Pixopedia 24 concept
Before we go to topics explaining various Pixopedia 24 possibilities and actions, we need to say a few words
of Pixopedia 24 concept. By accepting and understanding the general concept, you will be able to
perform and explore various actions and their combinations in quick and easy manner.
As Pixopedia 24 concept deffers from standard image editor and painter approach, this topics
is of crucial importance and should be read carefully.
Everything under the brush - everything under the mask
Pixopedia 24 works with "brush and mask" technique and allows the user to perform almost every action
through brush movement. Under brush movement we consider any shape drawn.
Among various shapes there is also free hand movement (strokes), so we will explain our concept
through free hand movement.
When you select some brush type and set its size, select some action (let's say Draw->Normal action)
and draw something on previously loaded or newly created image, beside drawing that appeared
on the canvas there is also one hidden, masked drawing that is not visible to user.
This mask is used to perform pixels rendering onto original image/canvas depending on action choosen.
Now, we can select some other action (let's say IPL filters->Blur) and apply this action on previously drawn shape
by pressing Mask button. We can also return to Draw action, change foreground color
and by pressing Mask button again, the color of shape is changed.
The mask is not destroyed even when undo is performed.
When the mask is destroyed?
Old mask is destroyed every time a new shape is applied on the image. The new mask is created
containing a newly created shape. Mask is also destroyed when some action is applied to whole image by
pressing Image button.
How to draw multiple shapes/strokes and keep their masks?
Mask addition (merging) is performed by holiding Shift key while performing shape drawing.
Now internal mask contains old drawing merged with a new one. Pressing Mask button
will apply selected action on both drawings (shapes).
